Ifa Lethu invited young designers to create a six-piece collection to complement the 2010 World Cup - a range that is snazzy, sporty, upmarket and inspired by the Ifa Lethu mission to build a South African brand and to promote development in the local fashion industry.

Greg Wallis, Ifa Lethu’s fashion consultant and clothing specialist, who was nominated by Anglo American and Business Day as Mentor of the Year 2008/9, explained: "It is a wonderful opportunity for junior designers who have had some experience in putting collections together. The winners will join forces alongside the existing Ifa Lethu designers to create a uniquely South African collection .”

Existing Ifa Lethu designers, who designed the initial collection, are Karen Monk Klinstra, Bonga Bengu and Gugu Msimang.
